Prayers
Śrī Guru-Praṇāma:
oṁ ajñāna-timirāndhasya
jñānāñjana-śalākayā
caksur unmīlitaṁ yena
tasmai śrī-guruve namaḥ
“I offer my respectful obeisances unto my spiritual master, who with the torchlight of knowledge has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance.”
Two important verses:
suna suna nityananda, suna haridasa
sarvatra amara ajna karaha prakasa
prati ghare ghare giya kara ei bhiksa
‘bala krsna, bhaja krsna, kara krsna-siksa’
“Listen, listen, Nityananda! Listen, Haridasa! Make My command known everywhere! Go from house to house and beg from all the residents, ‘Please chant Krishna’s name, worship Krishna, and practise what Krishna teaches.’” (Sri Chaitanya-bhagavat, 2.13.8-9)
harer nāma harer nāma
harer nāmaiva kevalam
kalau nāsty eva nāsty eva
nāsty eva gatir anyathā
“In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy, the only means of deliverence is the chanting of the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way.”
Mahā-mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa:
Hare Kṛṣṇa Hare Kṛṣṇa

All glories to Śrī Śrī Guru and Gaurāṅga! 10.7.98
Supremely auspicious object of my affection, Mā Devamayī–
This morning I became happy, receiving the news of your well-being on the telephone. Here yesterday Śrīman Bodhāyana Mahārāja himself has completed Śrī Kṛṣṇa Pañcaka, Śrī Gaura Pañcaka, Śrī Vyāsa Pañcaka, Śrī Vaiyāsakī Pañcaka, Śrī Sanakādi Pañcaka – performed all these pūjās according to scripture to celebrate Śrī Guru Pūrṇimā.
When the pūjā was completed, with the help of Bodhāyana Mahārāja and other devotees, I was put in a chair and taken to the temple, and I had darśana of Their Lordships and performed pūjā. I heard that at your place (America), Śrī Guru Pūrṇimā is today. On this Pūrṇimā, begin Cāturmāsya-vrata. I am praying at Śrī-Guru-Pada-Padma that their abundant affectionate blessings be showered upon you.
My present physical state is not so well. I want to tell you a few things briefly. I do not consider myself as a guru. I have offered all of you at the lotus feet of my guru, and I am still doing that. I consider myself the servant of the servant of Śrīla Prabhupāda. You all give me the respect that is due to the guru. In any case, all these things you are writing about my life should not become a laughingstock to people because it is an overglorification.
I really consider myself inferior in knowledge, intelligence, and everything else. Yet I am forced to take from everybody the respect that is due to the President [of Gopīnātha Gauḍīya Maṭha]. Please be careful that there is no overgloification of myself in my biography that you are writing. I am conveying my prayer for your eternal well-being to the lotus feet of Śrī-Śrī-Svaparikara Jagannātha-Deva-Guru-Gaurāṅga-Gāndharvikā-Giridhārī-Gopīnātha. May Their Lordships be pleased with you and fulfill all your desires.
Begging for the mercy and blessings of Prabhupāda, who is worshipable by all,
Vaiṣṇava dāsānudāsa,
Śrī Bhakti Pramoda Purī
