Lectures from pure devotees
Once Dharmavira Maharaja was asked if there was any shortcut that would enable us to succeed in this life and attain pure love of Krishna. Dharmavira Maharaja replied: Yes, there is. Srila Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada has given us clear answers in his books and lectures. We have to hear from the lips of pure devotees and associate with them. And a pure devotee is one who is self-realized.
How do we know that someone is not cheating us and is good company, or sat-sanga? Shyam Das Babaji replied- If hearing Hari-katha from anyone inspires you to devotional service and chanting the holy name. That is san-sanga, good company. If not, that is asat-sanga, bad company, and we must quickly leave it, even if it is a spiritual master.
