Dharmavira Maharaja from FB January 29, 2020

The key to all the information regarding going back to our original home is given by Gauranga Mahaprabhu who has given us the short cut process.

What is this short cut process? – Just chanting harinam free of the ten offenses.

What process can be easier than this? – There is none

Why is this the easiest process? – There are sixty four limbs of devotional service prescribed in the Vedas to reveal one’s spiritual identity. The nine processes of devotional service includes the sixty four limbs. Out of the nine processes of devotional service kirtana, which refers to the pure chanting of the holy name, includes all nine processes. This is confirmed by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu himself and also in the jaiva dharma.

Therefore this the short cut process.

What do you have to do to chant the pure name of Sri Krishna? – You have to avoid the ten offenses which includes giving up bodily identification and sense gratification.

How do I give up bodily identification and sense gratification? – Just by chanting the holy name according to the process outlined in the third verse in the shikshastaka.

How do I get the qualities stated in the third verse in the shikshastaka? – You must follow the fourth verse of the shikshastaka which states the following:-No desire for accumulation of wealth. No desire for followers like wife, disciples, sons etc. No desire for personal sense gratification. No desire for mundane knowledge.

Then what should be your desire? – Your desire should be birth after birth unalloyed devotional service to Sri Krishna.

Why should I give up personal sense gratification? – Personal sense gratification is foreign to your spiritual identity. Your spiritual identity is that you are the maidservant of Sri Krishna.

Therefore as servant you need to serve the master and the master gives you the wages of prema bhakti.
